Biography

As the firm’s Senior Real Estate Paralegal, Karena manages the firm’s real estate team as well as overseeing all real estate closings in the firm’s Real Estate Division.  Karena has worked in the legal field for over 20 years focusing on real estate closings.

Karena began her career in Real Estate Law as a Post-Closing Manager. Soon after, Karena was recruited as one of the founding members of what became the Real Estate Division of North Atlanta Law Group. In this role, she developed and implemented the core procedures and best practices for the firm and recruited and trained staff as the real estate practice grew.

Originally from the Midwest, Karena has been a local to the Alpharetta community since 1985 and witnessed firsthand the development of the area from a quaint farming community to the bustling city it is now.

Karena is deeply involved in the community, including her past service as the president of the Sawnee Women’s Club, a local 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Karena actively volunteers with the Make A Wish Foundation, which she has done since 2004, and was honored for her volunteer efforts with the Volunteer of the Year Award.

Karena holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, University of Georgia, having attended on a presidential scholarship and graduated magna cum laude in just 2.5 years.

In her spare time, Karena enjoys spending time with her husband and two adult children, family and friends, traveling, visiting local wineries, cooking, hiking with her dog Whiskey, attending concerts, and cheering on the University of Georgia Dawgs and Atlanta Braves.
