Biography
Herbie J. Lanoux is a Senior Real Estate Paralegal at Briskin, Cross & Sanford, LLC, where he supports the firm’s residential and commercial real estate transactions from contract to close. With more than three decades of experience in the legal field—including over 30 years focused exclusively on real estate closings—Herbie brings deep knowledge, precision, and efficiency to every transaction.
Herbie began his legal career in product liability litigation before discovering his passion for real estate law in 1993. Since then, he has worked in every phase of the closing process—pre-closing, closing, and post-closing—serving clients in both residential and commercial real estate. His meticulous attention to detail, proactive communication, and commitment to client service make him an integral part of the firm’s real estate team.
Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Herbie earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from West Georgia College and his Paralegal Certificate from The Center for Legal Technology in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Before entering the legal profession, he enjoyed a successful 25-year career in regional theater as a dancer, actor, choreographer, and technical director—an experience that fostered the creativity and discipline he brings to his work today.
Herbie has also been an active community leader, serving as President of his South Atlanta Neighborhood Development and as a founding member of the Ormewood Park Neighborhood Watch.
Outside the office, Herbie enjoys spending time with his husband and two adult sons, traveling, and attending concerts and live theater performances.
